The Apologia Seminar

About

In an ever changing marketplace of ideas, the Christian worldview has been able to withstand philosophical and historical attacks over centuries of criticism. It has been able to interpret reality properly, and gives us the right tools to answer some of the most important questions mankind has ever faced: Why are we here? What is my purpose? Who is God? Can we know God? Can the Bible be trusted?

The Apologia Seminar is a week-long intensive venture into exploring the revealed truth of God and His divine creation. It covers knowable topics such as the history and reliability of the Scriptures, and the more nuanced philosophies of religious thoughts and belief. How can we know God exists? By examining the revelations He gave in Scripture and God’s natural revelation (Romans 1:20), as well as His constant role in history, a reasonable defense can be made for the Christian worldview and religion.

We will see how the biblical authors used apologetics when interacting with unbelievers and convincing their culture of God’s knowable Truth (Acts 17). We will examine how we can take their framework and apply it the modern world and give a reasonable defense for the hope that is within us (1 Peter 3:15).

This week is designed to be a mere introduction into apologetics and its many uses for evangelism in the modern world. We will cover many topics, but will also guide you into further personal study after the seminar is over. It will be lecture style sessions three times a day, from 8:30am to 4:00pm, with breaks in between, and built-in times for discussion and questions.

Topics of the week include:

– Modern Apologetic Method for Evangelism
– History of the Biblical Text
– Reliability of the Bible
– Ultimate Authority
– Christian Worldview vs. Muslim Worldview
– Difficult Passages of Scripture for Today’s World

“For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made. So they are without excuse.”
-Romans 1:20
